The proceeds from this album will help to support 11 orphaned children under the care of a pastor and his wife, Paul and Nheli, in Manyatta, a suburb of Kisumu in Western Kenya.

The children lost their parents through a variety of causes: death due to Aids, the post-election violence of 2007 or simple desertion by the mother and father. Boniface, himself taken off the streets by Paul and Nheli as a child, sings the solo of ‘Stay with me’.

Poignantly, the album ends with ‘Remember Kenya’, a prayer asking for God’s protection against a repeat of the 2007 post-election violence which was particularly bad in Manyatta. We hope that you will share in this prayer with them as Kenya faces another presidential election in 2013.

All songs feature the congregation of Paul’s church in Kisumu, and consist of praise and worship in Swahili, Luo and English. Some are traditional, others have been composed by members of the group. The violin playing is my own.
